Process Excluded and Display-Only Flights
Universal Policy starts by processing the display-only and excluded flight configurations. Universal Policy loops through all price points, removes any options that contain excluded segments, and checks remaining options against any display-only configurations.
The settings in this topic are configured on either the Add/Edit Display-Only Airline or Add/Edit Excluded Airline screens.
When processing display-only configurations, Universal Policy first determines on a leg-by-leg basis if a display-only option exists on a specific leg. Note: For an option to match a display-only configuration, all segments in the option must be specified as display-only. If a leg has a display-only option on it, then only options that are fully operated by the display-only carriers will be retained. All other options will be removed.
Of the following two price points, neither price point would be returned if VA has been configured as display-only worldwide because neither price point is completely served by display-only carriers:
- Price point A: Leg 1 BNE-SYD QF, Leg 2 SYD-BNE VA
- Price point B: Leg 1 BNE-SYD VA, Leg 2 SYD-BNE QF
If display-only carriers have been configured but no display-only carriers are found in a given response, all price points will be returned.
If all options for a price point are removed due to either exclusion or display-only processing, the entire price point will be removed from the response.
If a super-preferred carrier is encountered during this processing it is noted for later.
If all price points are removed from a given group Universal Policy adds a message to the response to show that EXCLUSION PROCESSING caused them all to be removed.
